CKWE 103.9 FM Listen Online
CKWE 103.9 FM is bilingual channel based at Maniwaki and
works under the ownership of Rover Desert Band. The applicant Jean-Guy
Whiteduck applied for a first Nations station that was approved by Canadian
Radio-television and Telecommunication Commission with a proposed wattage power
of 50 w and 103.9 MHz frequency. They decided to broadcast programming 3 hours
of educational and informative shows and four hours of Public affairs. CKWE’s
management then decided to put coverage of 3 hours to sports shows and local
community events and 1.5 hours to a newscast. On 24 September 1994, the reserve
was retitled as Kitigan Zibi.

The license was updated by CRTC for CKWE-FM on 15 June 2001
for the coming seven years. The content was correspondingly aired in Algonquian
and English for 13:45 making 27:30 of local programming. On 29 September 2008,
CRTC approved an application of renewing the license of CKWE 103.9 which was
valid until 31st August 2015. The audience can listen to the content of best
rock and country music along with other genres. CKWE 103.9 FM is all available
online to listen in Kitigan Zibi and nearby areas with programming schedules,
news, contests and Algonquin Language Learning classes and much more. The radio
