CHPD 105.9 De Birgi Radio Listen Online
CHPD 105.9 De Birgi Radio also known as The Bridge radio was
established on 2 September 2003. It is the first low power German station of
Canada that works under the ownership of Inter-Mennonite Community Council in
Aylmer. Inclusion and Integration through Education and Information encourage
the mission and vision of ethnic radio. CRTC approved the council to launch a
low-power radio on 16 January 2003 that would telecast weather, news, ethnic
programming and cultural event along with music and community-related shows.
Here in the call-letter of the station, OD stands for Plaut Dietsch. Currently,
the channel is operational at 105.9 MHz frequency with an ERP of 50 w, before
that its frequency was 107.7 MHz which was changed into a current frequency in
2005; approved by CRTC on 18 May 2005. They also marginally lowered the height
of Antenna and increased the strength of ERP to 250 w in the same decision. On
July 2010, the license of CHPD-FM 105.9 De Brgi Radio was re-validated by CRTC for next three
years, which was valid until 31st August 2013.
With entertainment and info and daily dose of news, De Brigi
provides its services to Mennonite community. Through this radio station, Low
German communities of Canada are connected with Germans living outside the
Canada like a bridge. CHPD-FM also telecast weather updates, traffic info,
public service announcements, community events and a lot of enjoyable programs
with humour and music. The MCS station is all available for listeners online on
its official website with resources, podcasts and much more. On the site of De
Brigi 105.9 FM, you can also give donations to the needy people (if you are
into the kind of charitable stuff). The channel is accessible on Facebook, so
