An Amazing Gaolkeeper of Belgium - Simon Mignolet
Simon Luc Hiderbert Mignolet also called Simon Mignolet is a
Belgian goalkeeper who was born on 6 November 1988; He plays for both National
Belgium Team and Liverpool Football Club in Premier league. The youngster
started his career in Belgian Second Division with Sint-Truiden, and after
entering into in the year 2004, he spent six years there. Before joining Sunderland in June 2010, he
played total 100 games and kicked one goal in his previous club; he moved for 2
million pound transfer fee.
He has appeared in 101 games for the club in almost
all competitions. He made a contract with Liverpool FC for 9 million pound fee
in June 2013. He also appeared as a youth international on several levels for
Belgium, later he entered into the senior side. In 2011, Simon made his senior
debut and since then earned 20 caps for the national team. Simon Mignolet Goalkeeper was also a part
of FIFA World Cup 2018 squad.
Mignolet’s born place is Sint-Truiden thus he joined his
local side Sint-Truiden in the second division of Belgium and rose high through
the youth system and at the age of sixteen he became the first choice following
the Dusan Belic’s exit. In 2009, he recorded 29 appearances for the club and
scored a single penalty to assist Sint-Truiden and got a title of Belgian
Second Division. In the next season, they named him goalie of the Year because
due to his efforts the club didn’t have to face the relegation.
Liverpool made a deal with Simon for 9 million pounds for
the following five years on 25 June 2015. Brendan Rodgers who was one of The
Reds’ Boss hailed him and praised him as one of the top goalkeepers in the
league. He started his debut in a pre-season friendly match versus Preston
North End and got a 4-0 victory.
