Messi achieves his career's landmark by completing 700 goals
Lionel Messi, the professional soccer player from Argentina,
completed his career’s 700 goals with legendary Panenka penalty in a draw game against
Atletico Madrid. All time GOAT from Argentina reached the milestone for both
his club and country by pushing the ball slightly into the net as the goalkeeper
Oblak dives the other side.
The penalty goal gave a 2-1 lead to the Barcelona, but in
the last moment, Atletico Madrid draw the game by hitting back the goal with
2-2 score. Though, Barcelona remained at the 2nd spot in the
rankings table, just a little bit behind the leading team Real Madrid. Messi’s
Penalty came in his 724th game and 630th goal of the
club. The 33-years-old footballer played his part as an opener in the Barca
when his amazing corner slide into the net by hitting Diego Costa.
Diego, the former talent from Chelsea, continuously had a chance
to compensate the damage when Atletico got a penalty upon Carrasco’s foul
inside the box. Atletico again got the chance with a second penalty by Niguez,
but they didn’t convert it into a goal. Messi found the lead again when he hit
the ball by using a great penalty and reached his career’s landmark.
This 2020 seems to be bringing another landmark for the all-time favorite Lionel Messi. He achieved his 700 goals of the career just after 1 year and 2 months before completing his 600 milestones for FC Barcelona.
