Which Radio Covers the Entire Region of Metro Atlanta
Streetz 94.5 FM, aka W233BF, is a radio service licensed to metro Atlanta that works under the ownership of Edgewater Broadcaster; it serves the entire area of Atlanta. The channel airs hip hop music format and strongly focuses on local artists, although it is not as mainstream as other networks in the same format, such as WVEE and WHTA. Streetz 94.5 is the third HD substation of Entercom, being leased by the network to pave the way for its translator to telecast all scheduling on 94.5 frequency.
The station applied for a license in 2003 and finally hit the waves in July 2007; as soon as it went on air, it immediately requested to shift on 105.3, becoming W287BI.
In June 2013, the network used its brand name ‘Streetz 94.5’ for the first time; in the same year, the channel moved to its current format, hip-hop. In April 2015, the owner purchased another network WFDR-FM; this deal helped eradicating the biggest hindrance in the way of the station, which was to expand the boundaries in the Atlanta region. Currently, the radio also transmits another broadcaster, WSTR-HD3.
In January 2015, they bought WIPK FM 94.5 and started to simulcast on WIPK in the northwest Georgia same as W296BB and WTSH-FM on 107.1; they also serve the metro Atlanta and northwest Georgia respectively. Listen Live Streetz 94.5 FM Transmission here.
