KTU 103.5 FM is known to be a HOT AC format rhythmic radio station which works under the ownership of most popular company iHeartMedia. It broadcasts to the suburbs of NYC. Same like its other competitors, the studios of the network are situated at the former AT&T building, and its transmitter is placed at the Empire State Building. Over time, the channel has grown popular and maintained its relevance to the public till today. Currently, the station has been survived for seventy years. Since its inauguration in 1948 as WNNJ, the station has evolved to maintain relevance to its listeners along the way.
WNNJ was telecasted in New Jersey before making any variations to the original version. Paterson owned it, and after that, it was transformed to WPAT FM after great damage. The damage was occurred because of the tropical storm, which led it to terminate its broadcast for a few days.
After the consistent broadcast of two years, initially, 103.5 Frequency was assigned to Babylon within the New York area. At that time, WGLI was acquired by William Reuman, who was WWRL’s founder. Until 1969, the radio aired Instrumental pop music regularly. Ultimately, the radio developed to play soft instrumental editions of rock with 15 minutes vocals. After changing to the new name WTFM and getting new ownership Sydney Horne, the station started to telecast more soft rock songs and standards artists.
