Fox 5 DC News is a Fox-owned TV channel which is also
operated by them; it is licensed to the capital city of US Washington, District
of Columbia. Officially the channel is termed and known as WTTG, it is
abbreviated after Thomas Tolliver Goldsmith; he is known as the Dumont’s chief
engineer (a founding company). The channel is under the direct ownership of
21st Century Fox under its branch Fox TV station.
WDCA is its sister channel, and MyNetworkTV owns and
operates it. The studios, transmitter facilities and offices of both channels
are on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington’s northwest side. The channel is digital
station except for its main shows like ME-TV and BUZZR.
Allen b. DuMont founded the channel in early 1945 with a
brand name W3XWT; it was a 2nd experimental TV channel in Washington. W3XWT got
a commercial license as WTTG under DuMont TV Network and consider the first
ever licensed channel in the capital city of America.
In 1958 WTTG became an independent TV station when DuMont
closed network operations. In 1986, 20th Century Fox took the ownership of the
channel, now it is recognized as one of the six original channels which are
