Rock 95 is an Active Rock station worked under the ownership
of Rock 95 Broadcasting Ltd. and located in Barrie. The tagline used by the
channel is Classic Rock, New Rock: Get it All!. The CFJB channel prevails all
around from Parry Sound in North and Mississauga to South. Before Legal
identity CJFB was assigned to Rock 95, it was once in 1950 reserved for radio
based in Brampton. Today the channel owns a transmitter of 100,000 w which
covers a large portion of Central Ontario having quarter million fans from
overall, potentially. Rock 95 covers the audiences from Orillia, Barrie,
Midland, Bradford, Collingwood, Alliston, Penetang and Newmarket.
The channel began its transmission on 7 October 1989 at the
offices at 400 Bayfield Street. In November 1989, the transmission location was
moved. Due to which in April 1992, the grant for decreasing the wattage power
to 45,500 was approved. The prime shareholder of a company (Douglas Bingley)
was allowed to hand over the controls through Ontario Inc. (newly
incorporated). The license was renewed when a grant for an increase in power to
96300 w was approved to strengthen the signals in Barrie.
On 22 January 2001,
CKMB (sibling station) got on air. The ERP of the channel was once again
decreased to 4600 w, and the transmitter was also shifted to the place where it
could share it with CKMB station (recently established) in March 2002. Once
again the wattage power was decided to lower by the CRTC to 41000 w with the
relocation of the transmitter and changing the height of the antenna. In 2007,
the new studios were appointed for Rock 95 at 431 Huronia Road, Unit 10,
Barrie. The license of CFJB station was amended by CRTC for four years from
