Iraq : Two US and One British Service Members died in a Rocket Attack

Two US service members and one UK national died in a rocket attack that targeted the Military base in Taji Iraq. Though, the United States officials are accusing Iran of this act. Pus, he further stated that the tension in the area had been raised once again. In the recent interview, the Central Command Spokesperson of the United States, Cap. William Urban confirmed that a total of three people were killed in an attack, including two US nationals and one alliance member from the UK.

While talking to the CNN, the defense official said they would chase down the perpetrators in Iraq. There is a possibility that it could be the Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, based on the strategies and weapons being used by the attackers. Colonel Mayles B. Coggins also confirmed the ambush on twitter by saying that the rockets started hitting the base at 19:35 (Iraq Time) on 11.03.2020.


A UK Ministry of Defense’s Spokesperson narrated that they know what happened at Taji Base, Iraq is really sad, including the death of British nationals as well. But, to conclude anything before some proper investigation isn’t a suitable thing to do. The death causalities in the Iraq Rocket Attack were reports by the Fox network first.

The US military reported that the Iraqi Military found a truck loaded with several mounted rocket launchers, including three already-deployed rockets in the launching chambers. Some other sources from US Defense officials stated that attackers fired 18 missiles (07mm) on the military base camp from the launchpad -having the capacity to fire 30 of them- but most of them didn’t operate.


Later on, Wednesday, the coalition stated an official statement saying, on 11 March, rockets were fired at the camp resulting in damaging the premises and killing three alliance members. They further noted that the names of the victims would be shared in the upcoming statement.
